Netflix – A New & Modern Redesign Approach

Motivation behind the redesign

The Netflix landing page is the first thing that a user sees when visiting the website. And while the existing design was functional, it lacked consistency and modernity. I wanted to create a design that was not only aesthetically pleasing but also easy to navigate.

Elements used in the redesign

Color palette: The color palette used in the redesign is the classic one from Netflix. The combination of black and white with hints of red is not only visually striking but also consistent with the Netflix brand.

Header: The header consists of the Netflix logo on the left, a search bar area, and icons for notifications, menu, and personal profile. This provides a clear and concise navigation system that is easy to understand.

Sidebar: On the left side of the page, there is a sidebar with all the important navigation points, including categories and settings menu. This provides a clear and easy-to-use navigation system that is consistent throughout the website.

Main content: The main content consists of a top 10 ranking block, where you can see scrollable content blocks with detailed information. This provides users with a quick and easy way to find the most popular content on Netflix. Right beside that are several sliders showing common Netflix categories like new publications or popular movies. There is also a slider to continue watching movies the user already started. This provides users with easy access to content that is relevant to their interests.

Overall design experience

The overall design experience was challenging but also rewarding. The most important aspect of the design was to create a consistent and modern design that was both easy to use and visually appealing. I spent a lot of time researching different design elements and user experiences to ensure that the design was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
